Applications are being accepted for a full-time non-tenure track clinical
faculty position to begin Fall semester 2008. This is an annual renewable
clinical faculty position. The successful applicant will have experiences in a
variety of mental health settings. Responsibilities include teaching
foundational and clinical courses, advising, participating in departmental and
university service, and engaging in evidence-based research.
AN APPLICANT MUST:

be eligible for licensure as an occupational therapist in the
State of Maryland

hold a minimum of a Master's degree

have a minimum of three years of full-time clinical experience
and evidence of currency in mental health practice

have experience in clinical and/or academic teaching and a
strong commitment to excellence in teaching.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include meeting the national
accreditation standards: occupational therapist or occupational therapy
assistant with a masters degree, initially certified nationally, and
credentialed according to state requirements with a minimum of five years of
professional experience related to clinical practice, administration, and
teaching (one year of the five years of experience having a full time academic
appointment with teaching responsibilities). Incumbent will demonstrate
leadership ability as it relates to academic quality, curriculum development,
budgetary oversight, and adjunct faculty selection and evaluation. The person
will provide leadership and instructional responsibilities for the program.
Hours for this position can include day, evening, and weekends.
Minimum qualifications are:
Master’s degree in a relevant field as required for
accreditation (Selective Requirement)
Five (5) years of relevant experience to include experience
related to clinical practice, administration, and teaching as required for
accreditation (Selective Requirement).
Ability to effectively communicate subject matter content
and to relate to a diverse population in a multi-cultural environment.
